Welcome to Version 3
WARNING: Geek Post!
Okay, I have a new look and feel, a new name, a new tag line and the site is no longer in Beta - which really was just a reminder to me to finish my little project as the other one didn’t feel finished.
Here are some of the little items we’ve taken care of:
- New Name - There was nothing random about my thoughts before, and there likely isn’t going to be so the name didn’t work. I won’t provide a summary or reason for the new name - you get to infer your own - or postulate by posting a comment.
- New Look - I think this is cleaner; although I am not sure that I like the font color on the background, might not be the most readable for longer posts. Let me know what you think.
- The body of the page is wider, this will make for less scrolling down.
- Updated the side links - I’ll try and do a better job of letting you know what is in the 8-track and bookshelf (the bookshelf will remain static for quite some time as Atlas Shrugged is quite a tomb.) I lost both the Road to Serfdom and Cadillac Desert as I left them on planes. So that including Don Coxe’s book, The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, and a few others have all been donated…. I hate losing books.
- Reduced the number of posts on the main page - 10 was too much if I had posts with lots of pictures. It is now 5.
- There is a search, not sure why this is important but put in weird words and see if I have used them
- Started tracking stats for the site using Google Analytics - not cause I drive massive traffic but it has a neat map that shows the globe and where people are reading from. Once I collect some more data I will post the map up. I have been using myWebStats but I will slowly stop using that.
- I am uncertain if I should add an image to the header or if the stylized font is good enough - I think I like it how it is but post comments and I might add a pic from the library. (The title is generated on the fly using GD. I have no idea what that means, but I had to putz around in PHP a tiny bit to get the description on there… I’m a hack.)
So some questions:
- Picture or no Picture on the header?
- Font - the primary is Optima - which looks great, so Mac users get the best result! I don’t know how many Windows users will have this font installed, but I suspect not many. Here is the order of preference - on fonts “Optima, Lucida Grande, Monaco, Verdana, serif”. If there is a font that the Windows world out there would like to have let me know and I’ll see what I can do.
- Is this better or should I go back to the old one?
- How many people think NAN! should post more than once every leap year?
1. Picture, but only if it’s the right one. I give free consultations.
2. Those fonts are fine. What the heck would you want more fonts for. You are strange if you want more fonts.
3. Better, but what’s with the side menu color….little feminine no? I feel you could go more masculine.
4. At the present time, this is how often I’m inspired to post. It’s a creative experience you see. I must be inspired. I fear if I were to post more often it would be uninspired and lack luster. Perhaps I’ll post again to celebrate Lilly’s departure…(btw: Lilly might be around for a while, as she appears to be growing. People have started to make sound effects and stare when they see her now. Not to worry, we are emotionally tough as nails.)

You should embrace lily and treasure every momement you have together. Before you know it she’ll be gone and all you’ll have are memories.

1. No picture. I find pictures make the headers too large…here I creatively differ from NAN!
2. Here I agree with NAN! no need to over analyze something as trivial as a font…come on Marcos there are better things in this world to worry about…like what type of seat covers I am going to have at the wedding
3. I do like the color scheme, however I think that white font may be tough on the eyes after a long post.
4. I agree 100%…NAN! should post more often…it makes me laugh out loud so hard that I cry and everyone needs to do that more often

1-3. Whatever makes you happy. You didn’t ask about the title. I like that very much.
4. NAN! must post more. I lost urinary control over the dress story. The Lily saga is excellent. NAN! has done this body dysfunction so well. I mean it really works from all angles. People would naturally want to stare at Lily (its the whole care accident scenario) so its perfect that she is in the eye area. That way while talking to NAN! people can stare and look her in the eye at the same time. Meanwhile NAN! can forget about Lily during conversation assuming she looks normal because people are looking her in the eye and not staring at the problem….hummm. It would be so awkward for all involved if Lily where say…on the breast. Thank you NAN! for making this trouble spot easier on all of us. For the next little while beware of those guys that will only look you in the eye…hummm.

The thought of Lilly on my breast … it made me cry. I think whatever caused your loss of urinary control also irritated my tear ducts.
Wait one second … fresh thought coming in…. if lily was on my breast, I might have breasts. Do you realize what sort of impact this would have on my life? I would lose the option to wear dresses frontwards OR backwards. This would be truly sad. Truly. These tears would be different tears.

I’ve been trying to find blogs where people are talking about geo tracker car seat covers and when I was looking, I found this one on you article. thought I would say hi, before I go off to find some more info on this field.
